Fundraisers

What fundraising options are available to our school/team/organization?


You can choose between three (3) fundraising models: Pre-Order your branded restaurant passports and distribute them to your "sellers" (families) when they arrive. You buy them upfront for 30% retail and then keep everything you sell (or 70%). You control everything: distribution, money collection, fundraising period, etc. And you also see the largest return, too! Collect Orders from your "sellers" for a defined period (typically 4 weeks) using traditional paper order forms AND an online store page, which we set up for your school. At the end of the fundraiser, all paper & online orders are tallied, and your branded restaurant passports are ordered. About 2 weeks later, your passports are delivered to your school and buyers are notified to pick them up at your school. This model has no upfront costs (payment is due on delivery day), and your school keeps 50% of the profits. Donation-based model: We set up an online store and you promote the link via email and social media to your families, fans and staff. We process all your online orders and ship passports to customers. No upfront fees, no inventory to manage. Passports are non-branded. We donate 50% of all orders directly to your school.




Is it "safe" to purchase restaurant passports online?


100%! Online payments are securely processed by STRIPE and PAYPAL, which are both PCI Level 1 online service providers.




Do restaurants pay a fee to be featured in local restaurant passports?


NEVER! We feature local restaurants free of charge. The only thing we ask is that they include a great offer on their page so families get the most value from their passports.




What’s the estimated shipping time for online orders?


With the donation-based fundraising model, we process all orders and ship directly to your families, who can expect to receive their passports within 3-5 days. If your school is doing a fundraiser and passports are available for pick up, then parents (buyers) can purchase passports online and then pick them up at school during normal school hours (Mon-Fri). Buyers will need to bring a printed receipt when they pick up their passports.




Can families buy more than one passport?


OF COURSE! In fact, passports make great gifts, so the more families buy, the more your schools benefit and the more we support our local restaurants.




Can we build our own restaurant passport?


YES! As long as the restaurants you want featured in your custom passport are close enough in proximity and haven't already been featured in too many other editions. Either way, we'll work with you to come up with an awesome passport for your school!




Are restaurant passports "branded" with our school/team logo?


YES! If your school or team chooses to pre-order passports or collect orders up front, then we will customize your passports with school/team branding. See example. If your school/team chooses the donation-based fundraising model, then we aren't able to determine printing quantities, and therefore we aren't able to customize your passports.




Does our school/team get an online store with our fundraiser?


YES! For any fundraising model, we'll set up an online store for your school/team. This simplifies ordering, helps you raise more money for your cause, and offers a SAFER alternative to traditional door-to-door selling. NOTE: We will still provide your school/team with traditional paper order forms in addition to your online store.




When does our school/team receive funds?


If you pre-order, then your school/team sets the fundraising deadline and keeps ALL the proceeds. If you collect orders, then you receive your funds on passport delivery day. If you go with a donation-based model, then we make a donation to your school/team at the beginning of each month.

Can we obtain a few printed samples to show our staff before launching a fundraiser?


Absolutely! Shoot us an email and we'll be happy to mail you a few samples.




How long should our restaurant passport fundraiser last?


If you're going to tally orders ahead of time, then we recommend 4 weeks of selling. Once we have all the online and paper form orders collected, it takes about 2 weeks to receive your printed passports. So from start to finish, about 6 weeks. If you pre-order your passports to receive the largest share of the profits, then we suggest establishing a deadline for your school (i.e. 4-6 weeks) and including incentives/prizes for individuals and/or teams.

How many restaurants are featured in each passport?

Do restaurants pay a fee to be featured in local restaurant passports?


NEVER! We feature local restaurants free of charge. The only thing we ask is that they include a great offer on their page so families get the most value from their passports.




Who designs my restaurant's passport page?


We do! You can always provide us specific photos & logos that you wish to be included on your page, but we take care of everything and there's nothing for you to do outside of providing us the details of your discount offer.




How many passports will my restaurant be featured in?


Your restaurant could be featured in multiple passport editions/locations. It depends on the schools that decide to launch restaurant passport fundraisers. That said, the max circulation for any single restaurant is 5,000 copies. In other words, you might be featured in 2-3 different passports (i.e. Littleton, South Metro) but no more than 5,000 passports with your page in it will be printed.




How many times can a customer redeem our offer?


One time, unless you tell the customer they can redeem it again. Typically, once your page is signed or stamped, the offer page is considered redeemed and may not be used again.




Will my restaurant automatically be featured in the next edition once the current edition expires?


Before the current passport expires, we will reach out to see if you want to be featured in the next edition and if you would like to change your passport offer.





Parents

How are restaurant offers redeemed?


Restaurant Passports are a tour of many of our town's favorite spots to dine. Unlike tear-out coupon books, passports stays in tact until the expiration date. This gives featured restaurants continued exposure even after customers redeem their offers. When you visit one of the featured restaurants, simply present the booklet and the restaurant redeems the deal by signing, dating or stamping the page. That's it!




What is the return policy?


Your purchase is making a great impact on our community. The businesses featured in restaurant passports are truly grateful for your support. That said, your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed. If for any reason you aren't satisfied with the overall value of the booklet you purchased, simply contact us by email at info@showcasepublishing.org or return the booklet by mail for a full refund. Please understand that our only requirement is that your passport booklet is in the same condition as you received it. If any of the offers are redeemed or if your booklet is damaged in any way, we won't be able to honor a refund - but we still may be able to help, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you're unsatisfied in any way. Restaurant Passports are here for the entire community and we want you to have a great experience with them!




When do restaurant passports expire?


Typically, passports expire at the end of each school year (June) and new editions are released prior to the beginning of the next school year (July/Aug).




Will restaurants honor their deals on takeout orders?


Utlimately it's up to the restaurant to accept or deny any coupon or discount, however, the eateries featured in restaurant passports have committed to honoring their passport deals whenever they're presented - both in-person and takeout orders - as long as you order directly from the restaurant. If you place a food order online and use a 3rd party delivery service, then the restaurant may not be able to honor the deal featured in your passport. They must be able to stamp or sign their passport page for you to redeem their featured deal, so when in doubt, call and place the order with the restaurant directly. They may decide to honor their deal verbally over the phone, which means you may be allowed to redeem their deal more than once.




Can I redeem a restaurant deal more than once?


Passport deals may be used once unless otherwise specified by the restaurant. Once the offer is signed or stamped, the offer is considered redeemed and may not be used again.




What if the restaurant lists multiple locations?


Some restaurants may list more than one location on their passport page. In this case, the offer can be used at any of the listed locations but can only be used once. After the offer is redeemed, it is no longer valid for further redemption.




Is it ok to tear out pages in my passport?


Sorry, but restaurant passports must stay in tact in order for discounts to be valid. You must present the passport booklet, in its entirety, at the time of purchase to receive the offer listed on the page. No individual pages, copies of pages, or ripped out pages will be accepted as valid.
